Caffè Vergnano 1882 Hot Chocolate Instant - Black - 15 x 30g

Forty-two per cent cocoa — the darkest of the six and the only one above forty. Thickened with corn starch.

One 30 g sachet to 100 ml of milk for a thick café-style cup, or 150 ml for a lighter one. Whisk into cold milk and heat slowly.

Sugar, cocoa powder (42%), corn starch, flavourings, thickener: E410, salt. May contain traces of nuts, eggs, soya, milk.

Caffè Vergnano have been a family house since 1882; the roastery is at Santena, outside Turin. Turin is where Italian drinking chocolate was invented, and the recipe follows that tradition rather than the powdered-cocoa one.

Fifteen sachets of 30 g. May contain traces of nuts, eggs, soya and milk. Store in a cool, dry place, away from strong smells — tea and chocolate both take on whatever is next to them.
