Caffè Vergnano 1882

Caffè Vergnano 1882 is one of the oldest coffee roasters in Italy: Domenico Vergnano began roasting coffee in his grocery in Chieri, near Turin, in 1882, and the Vergnano family still runs the company. Crema Aroma has been an authorised UK distributor of Caffè Vergnano since 2018 and stocks the range as beans, ground coffee, tins and capsules.

Caffè Vergnano is the house roaster at Crema Aroma and we are an authorised UK distributor: the Vergnano range is stocked in our own warehouse and supplied to homes, cafés, restaurants and offices from one place.

The roastery is at Santena, outside Turin. What sets the coffee apart is the roast: each origin is roasted on its own in cycles of 15 to 18 minutes at 180 to 200 °C, and the blend is assembled afterwards, the slow method Vergnano sets against turbo roasting.

The range here runs from the bar blends numbered by intensity (Espresso Classico 600, Ricco 700, Crema 800, Dolce 900) and the 1 kg trade bags (Antica Bottega, Gran Aroma, Mille 1000, Strong) to the Riserva Torino all-Arabica line, the BIO organic Arabica, the Decaffeinato in beans and ground, and the 250 g tins for the moka pot at home. Capsules for Nespresso machines (Cremoso, Intenso, Napoli, Oro) and the FAP system, the instant hot chocolate sachets and the sugar sticks complete the bar order.
