Description
100% Arabica from the Honduran highlands, grown at 1,500 to 1,800 metres, washed and Rainforest Alliance Certified. Vergnano's label calls it round and smooth: hazelnut chocolate and dried fruit, with a sweetness it compares to an artisan pastry shop. At intensity 5 out of 10 it sits between the Colombia and the Brazil.
How to use it
The easiest of the three to live with, as good in a cappuccino as it is black. As espresso, start at 18 g in a double basket; in a moka pot the chocolate notes lead. If one bag has to suit a household that drinks coffee both ways, choose this one.
Additional information
Slow roasted in Italy to a medium roast by Caffè Vergnano, the family roaster near Turin that has made coffee since 1882. One origin, with nothing blended in, Rainforest Alliance Certified. The stamp on the bag shows a toucan over green hills. Five hundred grams of whole bean. Keep the bag sealed, cool and away from daylight, and once it is open use it within a month.
