Cherries at 97 per cent, with cane sugar and lemon juice. Almost the whole jar is fruit — there is barely room in it for anything else.

On toast at breakfast, folded into a tart or stirred through yoghurt. It also belongs on a cheeseboard, where the fruit cuts through something aged and salty.

Cherries (97%), cane sugar, lemon juice, gelling agent: pectin; concentrated elderberry juice. Possible presence of fruit kernels. Natural citrus pectin (from apples and citrus fruits).

Agrimontana have worked at Borgo San Dalmazzo, at the foot of the Piedmontese Alps, since 1972. They were among the first Italian houses to give up sulphites, and work without colourings, preservatives or synthetic additives.
