Vincenzi Chocolate Syrup (Cioccolato) 700ml – Glass Bottle

Chocolate syrup from Vincenzi of Turin. The chocolate comes from cocoa extract and the dark colour from plain caramel, and there is no milk and no fat in it, so it keeps in the cupboard and stirs into hot or cold drinks alike.

For a mocha, add 2 cl (20 ml) of syrup to an espresso before the milk, the measure Vincenzi use in their own iced cappuccino recipe, and adjust to taste. Stir it into hot or cold milk for a chocolate drink, or pour it over ice cream. For a long drink, the label gives one part syrup to six parts water.

Sugar, water, simple caramel E150a, aroma, cocoa extract, preservative: potassium sorbate (E202).

Vincenzi is a Turin family firm that has made syrups since 1930; this one is produced by Nuove Distillerie Vincenzi near Turin. Vincenzi make their syrups with refined sugar rather than glucose, and the watercolour on the label is by the Italian artist Barbara Fantaguzzi.

700 ml glass bottle with an aluminium screw cap. Non-alcoholic and gluten free. Store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
