Gentile Premium Panettone Orange and Caramel 1kg - Gift Box

Candied orange peel makes up 22.6 per cent of this loaf — nearly a quarter of it is fruit, well above what an industrial panettone carries — with white caramel worked in alongside. Raised on natural yeast over a fermentation of up to seventy-two hours, which is what opens the crumb.

Thick slices at room temperature, with coffee, tea or a sweet wine. Warming it briefly brings the orange forward. It comes in a gift box.

Type "0" wheat flour, candied orange peels (22.6%) [orange peels, glucose-fructose syrup, sucrose], white caramel chocolate (cocoa butter, sugar, whole milk powder, caramelized sugar 2% emulsifier: soy lecithin, natural vanilla flavouring, salt), egg yolk butter (milk fat 82%) sugar, natural yeast (from wheat) natural candled orange paste (orange peels 49%, glucose-fructose syrup, sucrose), salt, acacia honey, barley malt, Madagascar bourbon vanilla, cocoa powder; for the icing: egg white, rice flour, armeline flour, coconut oil, peanut seeds, almond flour, corn starch, granulated sugar, grains, almonds, cocoa powder.

Gentile have worked at Gragnano, in the hills behind the bay of Naples, since 1876. The preserves come from the same house as the pasta and from the same part of Campania.
